I know that things are not as we would like this year with all of the uncertainty in our country but I hope that we can put it aside for awhile to embrace the spirit of the season and enjoy time spent with our families. May you all have a blessed Merry Christmas and New Year.

I've put together some of the pictures from our home as it's decorated for the Christmas season and hope you enjoy the visit. My husband and I physically built our home ourselves. It took about 3-1/2 years to get to the move-in stage and now 12 years later we still need to hang 5 doors on the 2nd floor. The house is a 3-story Queen Anne Victorian on 21 acres in a rural area.
We are about 50 miles north of Charlotte, NC. The house was previously decorated in the darker colors of the Victorian Style. We actually didn't get moved into the house until 2000 and after 7 years of the darkness I decided to go for it and have spent the past 2 years changing the interior over to the lighter palette that you will see in the photos. I drive my husband crazy changing paint colors. Every time he goes out of town on business he comes home to find a new color on the walls. That was before I settled on the more serene neutrals. It just makes me feel more relaxed to be surrounded by the peaceful whites, beige's and taupe's with accents of pale blue.

Well at 11:30 PM I must turn in for this evening. It's been fun!

Again, Merry Christmas to all and to all a Goodnight!! For real!

Bon Nuit,

DebbieOld Blush Atelierhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07451603135454970422noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-513355457343193854.post-20257170005689728902009-11-18T13:20:00.000-08:002009-11-18T13:35:49.308-08:00White Wednesday # 22It is such a gray rainy day in North Carolina that I can hardly make myself do anything but I hope it will lift my spirits and any blog visitors to look at some of my recent photos for White Wednesday. The picture of the beautiful old church is located in Creston in the North Carolina mountains near Boone, NC. I loved the architectural interest of all the turrets. I don't know the age for sure but feel it must be at least 100 years old or more.

The cute chippy gate was bought by me from one of the other dealers at my tag sale. You will see that some of the other pictures that I have added from the tag sale (which was fairly successful considering it was our very first one) fit right in with our White Wednesday theme.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and have a great time decorating and getting ready for the Holidays.

XOXO,

DebbieOld Blush Atelierhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07451603135454970422noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-513355457343193854.post-79430676658998662272009-09-27T19:39:00.000-07:002009-09-27T20:54:32.205-07:00"French Market Day" and Tag Sale

 Old Blush Atelier

Oct. 9 & 10, 9am-5pm

Antiques

Painted Furniture

French, Shabby and Junk Market Styles

Architectural Salvage

Garden Accents

Home Decor

Artisan Jewelry

Farm Market

Directions: From Statesville, take I-40 West to exit 150, travel north on hwy 115 for 11.6 miles, turn right onto Tuckers Grove Rd. They were in the cherry tree above me or they were in the dresser drawer that I was trying to paint or on top of the tables or posing sweetly in the antique picture frames that were leaning against the tree. It's hard to get anything done when you have to pick up a cute kitten every few mintues but it's worth it because they are just so sweet.

This is all in preparation for the Tag Sale that we're having in October. Got a lot primed today just hope I can get it all painted in time.

Saturday the 12th I'll be heading for Washington, DC on the NC Tea Party Bus. I've never done anything like this before so I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I think that patriotism at it's best will be on display that day and I hope it sends the message to our President and Congress that it's about "We the People" and not about their desire for power!

Anyway, sale day is a little over one month away so I'll have to keep my nose to the grindstone when I get back. We'll talk soon. Bon Nuit, DebbieOld Blush Atelierhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07451603135454970422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-513355457343193854.post-49319259822937077362009-08-27T10:43:00.000-07:002009-08-27T11:03:33.261-07:00Bonjour Blog Girls,

This is my very first day of creating a blog and my very first post. Thanks to Karen at "The Graphics Fairy for the beautiful background. By the way I am also a customer of Fleurish the shop owned by Karen in the Old Luckett's Store in Leesburg, VA. It's a great place and I've been many times including this years "Luckett's Spring Market" which was loads of fun.

As you may have noticed in my profile I am madly in love with all things French even though it's very hard to find in my area. But hey, it's about the thrill of the hunt anyway isn't it.

I have a booth space in an antique mall in Cornelius, NC by the name of Oak Street Mill which is about 20-30 min. north of Charlotte, NC. I live in a small town about 1 hour north of Charlotte called Statesville, NC. We have 21 acres and a 3-story Victorian House that I will share pictures of soon.

We are currently in the process of planning a"Tag Sale Event" to be held on our property in October 2009 and hope to have at least 15 to 20 dealers to participate along with us. I am so excited I can hardly stand it but my gosh there's so much work still to be done.

Well I better get busy so I have something to sell in October!! I'll get some pictures added as soon as possible.Old Blush Atelierhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07451603135454970422noreply@blogger.com1
