Christmas Decorating Old Blush Atelier

Bonjour Blog Girls,

Hope everyone is having a wonderful and joyous Christmas season. I know that things are not as we would like this year with all of the uncertainty in our country but I hope that we can put it aside for awhile to embrace the spirit of the season and enjoy time spent with our families. May you all have a blessed Merry Christmas and New Year.

I've put together some of the pictures from our home as it's decorated for the Christmas season and hope you enjoy the visit. My husband and I physically built our home ourselves. It took about 3-1/2 years to get to the move-in stage and now 12 years later we still need to hang 5 doors on the 2nd floor. The house is a 3-story Queen Anne Victorian on 21 acres in a rural area.
We are about 50 miles north of Charlotte, NC. The house was previously decorated in the darker colors of the Victorian Style. We actually didn't get moved into the house until 2000 and after 7 years of the darkness I decided to go for it and have spent the past 2 years changing the interior over to the lighter palette that you will see in the photos. I drive my husband crazy changing paint colors. Every time he goes out of town on business he comes home to find a new color on the walls. That was before I settled on the more serene neutrals. It just makes me feel more relaxed to be surrounded by the peaceful whites, beige's and taupe's with accents of pale blue.

Well at 11:30 PM I must turn in for this evening. It's been fun!

Again, Merry Christmas to all and to all a Goodnight!! For real!

Bon Nuit,

Debbie

  1. Debbie, your home is spectacular! I'm so glad you posted pictures of your holiday decor, because I didn't want to walk over and ring your doorbell and beg to see them. We feel so lucky to have you as a neighbor - thanks for the warm welcome. Please have another brocante or a workshop to share your talents. You have such an eye for details and I love your color choices.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  4. Hello, just came across your blog and have to say we shop at several of the same places. Amy from Bloom and Bee Swanky is a good friend of mine and I've done several posts on her shop. I was just recently in McKinney and will be moving into a booth there really soon. I hope you check out the McKinney shops I featured, which included Smitten. I see you aren't in Texas but do you come this way often. If you have a tag sale in Texas I'd love to come. Your house is just beautiful too, Theresa
